What if Jefferson wrote it like this:

“We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independant, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these ends, men will be raping pigs and chickens, deriving their just powers from the consent of the raped…”

Would it be still an unquestionable and sacred document, “because they wrote it that way”?

Or maybe questioning of the whole premise and demand for specific proof for the theory which says that raping pigs and chickens somehow “secures these ends” would be more prevalent and less of a sacrilege, than questioning “the role of the government” is today?
